Interim Youth Faith Formation Facilitator (7th Grade-12th Grade)

An average of 15 hours per week; Sunday morning availability
Start time: No later than July 1, 2023

Description:
The Interim Faith Formation Facilitator for youth/college students, in consultation with Faith Formation Board (FFB) and Pastor, is the primary lead in implementing weekly Faith Formation (Christian Education) opportunities for our teens (7th-12th).

This includes:

  • Assist FFB in the recruitment of classroom teachers and youth sponsors
  • Build rapport with teachers and sponsors, offering support and training as time allows
  • Assist FFB with maintaining/ordering inventory of supplies/curriculum
  • Communicate with other Rainbow staff regarding scheduling, communication, and logistic/set up needs
  • Take primary lead in organizing annual age-appropriate Circles of Grace/Healthy Boundaries training in September or October
  • Attend monthly FFB meetings
  • Weekly check-ins with Pastor
  • Assist with some of the logistics surrounding baptism inquiry classes, as directed by Pastor
  • Take primary lead in organizing and participating in annual Snow Camp trip (Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp) and Mennonite Central Committee Sale

As time permits:

  • Christmas program assistance and/or visioning
  • Plan or participate in periodic activities outside of Sunday mornings (family events, picnics, holiday activities, service projects, etc.)
  • Assist with mentor program/matching and support
  • College care packages
  • Lock-ins or overnight outings
